I have taken 1mg of Adivin, is it safe to take my normal does of panadeine exta. Each pill contains 500mg of paracetamol and 15mg of codeine. I usually take two of those.
Can I take Ativan with pain killers?

Yes, it is ok to take the pain medicine with the ativan as long as you take in the prescribed amount and no more. To read about the potential for interaction go to:

I agree with Laurie 100%. It would be best, if prescibed by two different dotors, that you let someone know that you are taking the two meds together. There is no contraindications for using them together, I am simply concerned about continuity of care.

Yes, it should be safe. I'm going for an MRI in a few weeks & will be using 1 or 2 Ativan at that time. I take a 24 hr. pill for chronic pain already.
I'd like to suggest that you let the prescribing doctor always know what other medications & vitamins & herbal/health supplements that you take. This is for your health & safety & will help to reduce unfavourable drug interactions.

Thank you so much. I didn't know how to post another comment so this is for everyone that answered me. Thanks heaps :) I actually woke up with a head ache thismorning, which isn't rare for me. But I really hate taking codeine in the morning. Is there any other pain killers that are strong but do not cause drowsiness?
