I have been told i should not take Amaryl while taking Lantus long acting insulin. Is this correct?

Actually there are no known interactions between Amaryl and Lantus. You may need to be wary of hypoglycemia though.
And although there are no known interactions, it does not mean that no interactions exist. So if you do experience any odd symptoms please see your doctor.
