You can use mineral oil in your ear to soften wax.
The mineral oil softens dried or hardened earwax so that a gentle flush of water can remove the debris. In the case of a damaged or perforated eardrum, however, mineral oil should not be used, as oil in the middle ear can promote ear infections.

I want to use this as a lubricant for my electric shaver, but it is too heavy an oil as purchased.

I've tried all the usual constipation remedies and am taking Mineral Oil which has helped but I don't know about the long term effects.
