Can Famciclovir be used if dont have Herpes or HIV but just chicken pox?

Yes, what you have been told is true. Famciclovir is an antiviral drug. Famciclovir can be used to treat chicken pox, which is caused by a virus from the herpes family called varicella-zoster
Famciclovir is also used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses, including genital herpes, cold sores, and shingles.
