i keep wondering about that too. is the risk worth it and is there something less dangerous that could be taken?

I have never heard that it can directly cause death, but being that it is an immunosuppressant, if you were to get a life-threatening infection, it can make that more difficult to treat, possibly I suppose in worst-case scenario, leading to death.
