My daughter had an ACE proceedure done where she has a stoma in her belly button. She accesses that with a catheter to do bowel irrigations. It is painful for her when inserting the catherter because the stoma is so small (she uses a 6 french). After she gets the catheter in, it's smooth sailing from there. I thought maybe instead of using KY we could use the xylocaine so it would be less painful to access. She is 7 year old.
Can children use xylocaine jelly?
