Can anyone tell me benefits or bad effects of prefilled syringes vs. the powder form of Avonex?

The Avonex vials will need to be reconstituted before use (a diluent will need to be added and mixed). If you are administering this yourself you will need to be taught how to do this.

The pre-filled syringe is ready to go. No mixing is necessary. This would be easier to use if you are going to have to inject yourself.
