Special care is required giving caffeine and ergotamine to children.
Has it been prescribed by a doctor? You should follow the doctors instructions precisely.
It would pay to double check the dosing instructions with the prescriber or the pharmacy that dispensed the medicines.
The adult dose is 2mg ergotamine/caffeine as soon as migraine starts then 1mg ergotamine/caffeine every 30 minutes until headache subsides - but no more than 6mg ergotamine a day of 10mg ergotamine a week.
