Although Bystolic and Exforge are both used to treat high blood pressure, they work differently. See your doctor if your blood pressure is high.
Bystolic (nebivolol) is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Bystolic is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by slowing down the heart and decreasing the amount of blood it pumps out. This helps to decrease blood pressure.
Exforge contains a combination of amlodipine and valsartan. Amlodipine is in a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels.
Valsartan is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Valsartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.
