Breastfeeding - I have to take clonamox caps1500mg/day for 5 days. can I breast feed my 1 month old?

I realize this answer may be a bit late but may help someone later.

Clonamox contains amoxicillin trihydrate. Amoxicillin is excreted into human milk in small amounts. Sensitization of the infant may occur. The American Academy of Pediatrics considers the use of amoxicillin to be compatible with breast-feeding (so yes it is okay to breast feed while you are taking amoxicillin). The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering amoxicillin to nursing women.

If your 1 month old baby has a cough I suggest you take the baby to your doctor. You shouldn't give anything over-the-counter.

ANYTIME you are perscribed any medication and are nursing a baby of any age, you need to ask your pediatrician, or the doctor who gave you the perscription. Some meds go through to the breast milk, and only a professionals' advice should be followed. Please do not follow the advice of well-meaning friends or relatives.
