NewjayPardon the yukky nature of this question but what condition causes blood to be found in one's stool. Could it be pile or some other condition? I've noticed this for a sometime now and I'm wondering if it's a danger

If it is bright red blood then it could be from a "pile" or hemorrhoid. Bright red blood indicates the bleeding is lower down in the digestive tract. Blood higher up in the digestive tract will digest somewhat and come out as black and tar like stools. Both are definitely something to be checked out. Bright red blood in the stool is mainly due to hemorrhoids but once in a while it can be due to colon cancer so they recommend that any bleeding be investigated even if you are pretty sure it is from a hemorrhoid. Talk to your Dr. He will probably order a colonoscopy so they can check out the cause. It is better to be safe than sorry!!

Yes, it can be very serious. Continuing with the yuckkiness, is it actually in the stool, or on the stool? With "roids" the stool can pickup blood on the way out. If the blood is IN the stool that's much much more serious. Monitor and see a Dr if this continues. FYI dark blood (brownish or black) much worse!

I see it only when i wipe up with a toilet roll. It doesn't appear on the stool proper, or i haven't seen it on stool yet.

Sounds like a roid. Best to see a Doc, these can be nothing or they can burst when you strain, etc.

The blood is bright red, I normally see it slightly on tissue when I wipe after going to the toilet. I dont feel any pain, neither do I see it on the stool proper, I only notice it from time to time on the toilet roll I use to wipe up
It is likely hemorrhoids but you should still get it checked just for safety sake.
