Avandia has been withdrawn but has Metformin in the drug. Has Metformin been withdrawn in the US?

Avandia has been withdrawn in the UK and although available in the US access has been restricted to patients with type 2 diabetes who cannot control their disease on other medications.

Metformin has not been withdrawn.
The active ingredient in Avandia is rosiglitazone. It does not contain Metformin.
