outbursts, etc as a symptom?
I also wonder if a person can have Lupus even if the rheumatoid arthritis tests come back negative?

I take predisone for my lupus daily but at times of flares have to up the dosage and have found this medicine makes me so hateful I don't even like myself much less others lol my son also has this side effect to even a smaller dose so it may be your meds I had 3 different RA test come back neg before I was finally diaganosed with sle

Wow, whenever I am on low doses of pred, it helps my hives go away and I get more energy. however, I have noticed when I start a taper pack, the highest dose makes me feel icky and moody too. Sorry to hear you are going through this with your meds... I haven't been dxd so not sure if I have lupus, but I am fairly sure.

when I was younger i had a problem with outbursts I believe that it is a symptom of lupus. You should look up symptoms of lupus online. My doctor gave me x-rays and looked for RA. You can not see damage of Ra in lupus patients but you do get the inflammation and pain. If you have a positive ana on your blood tests you definitely have lupus. I have done lots of research online on the medications I take, the side effects of them, and the withdrawal symptoms also. You do not want to take a medication and then find out that it has severe withdrawal symptoms. Plaquinel: Aggression, worst pain you have ever felt in your life, vasculitis, all side effects are debilitating. it also takes a whole month to detox from plaquinel.

jen i had hives that were undescriable (in the hospital for week at a time) for years! then they just were gone!!! other symptoms came and went without a definitive diagnosis. it was probably 20 years before the sle dx finally pulled all those strange things into an answer. don't give up
Thanks TexasJanie! Wow, you had bad hives too? Mine are the really large ones that can be as big as a grapefruit. The only thing that takes them totally away for awhile is prednisone... Anyhow, I will keep on trying to get this figured out! Thanks for the support.
jen my hives would be so solid that they looked like burns. my lips swelled huge lol and my throat would swell. i would need iv prednisone in the hospital. but i finally found a pure antihistime shot dimetane-which i'm sure is no longer on the market but it would stop them in minutes. now i realize that this was SO a symptom of lupus which is a histime releasing disease but in 1971-1980 no one ever said the word lupus although i saw many drs-more than most probably because i am a nurse.
