Hello alday. Your question has been asked some years ago and I only just noticed it now. ADHD the diagnosis is that the child show, demonstrate 6 attention symptons or 6 implusivity, hyperactivity symptons and these can be seen before the age of seven. There are questionaires that are usually filled out by the childs teacher and the parent. I'll list a few of the symptons, and only a few abd they might be such as talking to much, being inpatient or inattentive, difficulty processing information, daydreaming, not being able to focus, trouble or difficulty doing homework. These apply to children in general but in case of ADHD, they are more prevelant and powerfull. Best of wishes to you and hopefully your child is doing well, and good health, pledge

This is true and as I learned recently, if you dont like what the doctor is telling you or you are unsure please get a second opinion, I was so greatful that I did with my grandson, His doctor diagnosed him with ADHD and tried him on procentra which he had an emotional reaction to, then said he couldnt try anything else until he turned 6 ( he was 4 then). When he started kindergarten this year his teacher pushed me to get a second opinion, now he's on the right regement of concerta during the day, 1/2 tablet 1mg tenex at noon and 1 mg clonidine at night, and I am so greatful he was so behind in school and in only 2 weeks caught completely up and is a different child he even sleeps all night now ( he was only sleeping 4 hrs , no naps) which was killing me. I was on ritalin my self as a child so I guess he inherited it but life is so much better and he is not emotional nor flat, just normal and no longer getting into daily trouble at school.
Thank you for your input.
