... had CHF in 2006,had cardioversion to fix and pace/defibulator put in.Was told with CHF can't take certain meds. I took amiodarone for 6 years and still had afib and 6 more cardioversions and ablation. in fibulation now waiting for ablation again but very frustrated. Any similar situations. I've asked cardiologist about meds I read here that people say helped them but will not prescibe. obviously getting another opinion . would appreciate any comments as my quality of life stinks. Thank

I was told by my pulmonary physician to make an appointment with an electrocardiologist (a cardiologist specialising in abnormal heart rhythms) rather than a general cardiologist. I did and found it helpful to talk to a specialist in AFIB.

Further Information
Thanks. Besides my cardiologist I 've been to the arrhythmia and electrocardiologist Drs. I had my 6 cardioversions n ablation by them. Because my afib came back after only 3 months of last cardioversion they want to do ablation again. What bothers me is theyall say take the meds that didn't work on me. Getting more opinions. Thanks.
One more thing, I went to a functional medicine doctor who suggested I take magnesium glycinate. Apparently a lack of magnesium can also be a cause of AFIB. I started taking two pills per day and although it may be a coincidence, I think it has helped. Check it out.
Thanks. I do take vitamins but will check about the magnesium if I take enough. Thanks again.
