I had perthis hip disease as a child. Now I need hip replacement in both hips the right is extremely painful constantly. The doctors are now saying that #1thing is I'm to young for this type of surgery(I'm 47) Well now the doctors are saying that I need to have arthoscopic surgery on my right hip. So what my question is:
Has anyone out there had arthoscopic hip surgery and if so what can you tell about its pros and cons and were you also told that you will have to have complete hip replacement in the future.

i am not too up on the arthoscopic surgery but i had my 1st total hip replaced at age 47 in sept 2000 and had 57 staples, by second hip was done exactly 5yrs later with 11 staples. so i dont get where he says you are too young? maybe another doctor should give you some addtional advice? good luck... i do feel your pain... get it done as soon as you can so you can live again.
