Are minoxidil topical spray 2% safe with Pregnancy and Breastfeeding?

Topical Minoxidil has been assigned by the FDA to pregnancy Category C. This means that safety during pregnancy is uncertain and is best avoided unless clearly needed.
There is limited data available about its use in breastfeeding. It is detected in breast milk so is best avoided.
