I was scared though, I had to get antibiotics immediately it was cellulizing then disappear then come back and itch, has this happened to anyone? vtech10

are you positive it was a mosquito, that sounds like a spider bite. You probably need to see a doctor tomorrow, if it is a spider bite, you may need antibiotics and other meds to prevent anymore venom reaction, and to have the bite thoroughly checked/lanced. If it is a brown recluse that bit you, the tissue starts to die, it can leave a hole where the bite was.

Kind of sounds ike a chigger bite to me. Did you see the mosquito? Chiggers can burrow under the skin & usualy have a very large red swollen spot abou the size of a quater. I use after bite, & it works! May take a couple f times tho' It's actually great for any bite. I usually clean my hands & nails thouroughtly, and actually scrape the top off with my nail(usually not reccomended, but I find it works better when the after bite can get down in there to kill the little bugger! Just a thought...

Hi Pattishan, I am sure it was a mosquito bite, it did not leave a whole within my skin, with antibiotics and topical steroids for the itching it went away. My body is more compromised because I also have lip angioedema- so I could become annaphyllactic with a warm breeze of air, or even too much thick dust sets me off as well. i have a eppipen for allergies, but I had it checked out any way and that is what the doctor confirmed, I was bitten today around 9:00 am, it started getting big, I did not scratch it, I had some alcohol preps on me and by 12noon it was gone. While walking I would have seen a spider, but I was in open space and not near trees. So, I am very sure, it is the pestering mosquitos, thanks for your concern... and enjoy the weekend holiday... vtech10
