My husband has been on Zoloft about a month now and he is feeling a burning sensation all over his body except for his stomach. He started with 25 mg and is now taking 37mg. He just wants to know if anyone out there has experienced these same side affects?
Has anyone ever experienced burning sensations after taking Zoloft?

I was on 25mg for two weeks. I went up to 50mg and on the third day…I went to bed, feeling fine. As soon as I laid down my entire body felt like it was consumed with fire. This lasted for 23 hours. It was traumatizing and my doctor took me off Zoloft immediately.
My father has also experienced immediate burning sensations immediately after taking Zoloft, he has developed more stress/anxiety/depression post this and continues to get worse pain (feelings). Interested if others (especially mpanarese) have improved and what they found worked best?
Hello mpanarese. Paresthesies (tingling/burning sensation) is considered a common, normal side effect to taking Zoloft. In clinical trials, it was reported as a side effect by over 2% of users. Regards pledge
Thanks Pledge. I don't have the medical speak deciphered, so your help on the meaning of parasthesies taught me something new! You're so smart!

Hi pledge, Thanks for that info. I did hear about that and I did mention it to his doctor. Doctor confirmed that these sensations are due to the Zoloft. He also stated that because he is very anxious that these sensations are going to seem more magnified, but they should subside once his body adjusts to the Zoloft.
No, I haven't and I have been on Zoloft since Febr. My husband has been on it for a long time. It is not a side affect for him. When did the burning sensation start. There may be some kind of infection in his body. Call the doctor and make an appt to see him/her asap. Sometimes its hard to get an answer over the phone.
He did see his doctor today and he did confirm that these burning sensations are from the medication. He also said that when you feel very anxious you can also experience these same feelings. The combination of being anxious and starting the Zoloft is magnifying the burning sensations even more. Thanks for your response.
Did his doctor give him another med for the anxiety? I hope so. I've been on zoloft since 2004 and I've never had the side effect you describe. It concerns me if the doctor kept him on the zoloft, since even the doctor says the burning is a drug reaction. It's one of those things that makes you go... Hmmmmm!!!
Take care...

The burning sensation still does not seem right to me. If he keeps on with this, maybe take him to the ER and see what they find out. I know he has to be uncomfortable. It seems like some kind of yeast infection in the body. Don't know. Just thinking.
My face feels like it's burning all time
Yes face and chest burning
Hello
My arms have that burning sensation especially at night, and it wakes me up. Anybody else has this experience?
Thanks.
