Atrial fibrillation has not been a reported side effect of taking Topamax, maybe this could have been due to some other reason or maybe in your particular case it could be the one off side effect.
Taking to a specialist would clear your doubts, please take care.
Best wishes!!

Thank you for your response. I started Topamax on Nov. 16th and 2wks later I was in the ER. I stayed in the hospital for a week. My electrophysiologist scheduled me for surgery Jan. 17. Which, I have stopped the Topamax and NO A-Fib. Surgery has been postponed. Doctor says he doesnt believe it was the cause. I have been in A-fib since November 30th til Jan 3rd. I stopped Topamax Jan 1st. By the 3rd, ALL signs of A-fib are GONE!!! Had EKG done yesterday and I was in complete normal rhythm. Sounds like TOO much of a coincidence to me. Anybody???
