Any side effects form Botox?

Headache is a common side effect of botox and botox cosmetics.-

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Botox:

Anxiety; arm pain; back pain; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; dry or irritated eyes; facial pain; flu-like symptoms; headache; inability to focus the eyes; increased cough; indigestion; nausea; neck pain; pain, redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection site; runny nose; sensitivity to light; stiff or weak muscles at or near the injection site; sweating; tiredness.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Botox:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); bleeding at the injection site; chest pain; difficulty swallowing or breathing; double or blurred vision, or other vision changes; drooping of the upper eyelid; eyelid swelling; fainting; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; irregular heartbeat; loss of bladder control; loss of strength; paralysis; seizures; severe or persistent muscle weakness or dizziness; shortness of breath; speech changes or problems; worsening migraine.

I had Botox injections nearly 10 days ago. I had them on the brows, temples, where the skull and spine meet, and on the tops of my shoulders in the muscles. A few days after the Botox my right shoulder muscle became VERY sore, like I had seriously worked out, it hurt to move it even a little. The intense soreness abated after the first day and it it has remained sore. The left shoulder pain kicked in about 3 days after the injections. A few days ago I realized that I have very little shoulder strength. I can barely lift my 12 lb dog onto the sofa unless I use both hands and concentrate! I can't hold my arms above my head for any length of time - forget lifting anything above my head, even to brush, blowdry / style my long hair.

Now the weakness has begun to affect my upper thigh muscles and they are sore; not as intensely sore as the shoulder, but they feel bruised / overused. After having been sitting awhile getting up is somewhat painful and the first 10 steps are so are difficult because of the combined pain and feelings of weakness. It is pretty weird! I think I will call my neurologist on tuesday (after the 4th of July). Today is Sat, so if it is getting better by Monday I won't call. But if it hasn't improved, I definately will.

I have no idea if this is unusual or not. I haven't seen too much about muscle weakness other than at the site of the injection, or swallowing, breathing, etc. I have googled it and this forum is the only place that came up that wasn't sponsered by Botox or cosmetic sites.

Has anyone else experienced this type of reaction?
