Anyone have problems with intense panic attacks/anxiety after taking Maxalt ?

Here are some of the reported side effects for Maxalt:

Neurological/Psychiatric: Frequent were hypesthesia, mental acuity decreased, euphoria and tremor. Infrequent were nervousness, vertigo, insomnia, anxiety, depression, disorientation, ataxia, dysarthria, confusion, dream abnormality, gait abnormality, irritability, memory impairment, agitation and hyperesthesia. Rare were: dysesthesia, depersonalization, akinesia/bradykinesia, apprehension, hyperkinesia, hypersomnia, and hyporeflexia.

So yes it is possible though infrequent response to Maxalt. What has me baffled is that this occurred some 30 hours after the dose of Maxalt. The half life of Maxalt is 2 to 3 hours which means it would be out of your system pretty much that long after. I would have a talk with the prescribing doctor and discuss this possibility with him/her.

I had one too the second time I took maxalt, my heart felt like it was beating out of my chest. The pharmacist told me not to take it again, it is a shame, it stopped the headache really fast with no side effects the first time.

If you are taking an SSRI/SNRI and a migraine medicine they can conflict.
