I am just wondering if there are different makers of amoxicillin -
I started with a strep throat and now have a deep almost
constant cough and my throat still hurts - should I go back to
the doctor before the 10 day prescription is up?
Amoxicillin usually works for me - taking this for over a week no better?

yes there are different makers of amoxicillin. that's probably not whats going on with you though. did your dr do a strep test on you to confirm or just examine you & tell you it was strep? either way it's very common to be sick with something (bacterial or viral) & get a secondary infection which is also bacterial or viral. if it's viral it has to run it's course as anitbiotics do not cure viral infections. you should call your doctor & go back in to be re-evaluated. it may be that your illness is just so bad that it's going to take some time before you start feeling better, or you may need a stronger antibiotic. only your doctor can decide that, so i would notify them right away
