Herpes is generally spread only when a "sore" is starting, at it's peak, or drying up. Some studies say that it can be spread at other times when there is no outbreak. Also, Acyclovir can be prescribed for fever blisters (a form of Herpes) and also for the shingles (another for of Herpes). Do not panic at this time.
