Acne - How is Solodyn different from the generic drug minocycline?

Details:

My son's dermatologist perscribed Solodyn for treatment of his acne. However, the insurance company will not cover this, but will cover minocycline. Is Solodyn comparable to this?

yes there is a difference however minute the solodyn which is the brand name is the extended release which is the best treatment for acne. If your pharmacy has the generic in extended release form it will be the same thing.
