Barb,
I'm sure about food, but I do know it can be taken with soft drink or juice to help with the unpleasant taste. Remember too that this med causes dry mouth so you may want to keep gum and/or hard candy on-hand. Also, do know that sometimes after it is opened, it can become discolore-this has no affect on its effectiveness. Hope this helps.
