I have been taking these cold meds that have aceaminophen in them and I went and took a drug test for pre employment and it showed amphedimeans I have never used drugs could the cold meds be giving the faulse reading

Acetaminophen has not been shown to cause false positives but cold medicines with pseudoephedrine have been known to cause false positives for amphetamines. It depends on the test they used though. Some are more accurate than others.

Dzoobaby is right on target its the other things besides the tylenol itself as he said the pseudoephedrine

DaZooBaby is correct. The statistics regarding false positives are stunning. Especially for amphetamines. Please demand a retest and make sure you let them know all the meds (including OTC ones) that you've taken in the past 30 days.
