Hi Happy Girl, Please google The Thomas Recipe, it will provide you with a list of over the counter medicines that your friend will need while in withdrawal from opiate meds.
More info regarding your friends addiction would be helpful to us. Does your friend swallow (ingest) the pills, snort them or cook and shoot up? How much was friend taking/abusing?
Is friend in chronic pain, or was friend taking them recreationally?
If you give us more info, we can better help.
Good luck to you,

Happy Girl;
My girl Sweetiemom knows whats what-She is right , need to know specifics, this is not a guessing game, it's serious biz. I just want both of you to realize Metadone is a lot harder(and longer) kick than roxis, so please try to steer clear of that, Otherwise, follow Sweeties' advice and stay in touch. You are a good friend to be concerned for her. Good luck,Julie

hi h/g,when your friend gets through this detox are they going to stop taking roxie's ?if their answer is i'm gonna try. then they need to be on suboxone.the biggest problem is not going through this detox,its staying off pain meds.his best bet is going to a suboxone doctor.like sacosam just told you,find a sub doc on line.google suboxone doctors and put in your zip code.the hardest thing is staying off them.try A/A, N/A, support groups its gonna be work on your friends part.you Cant find sobriety you have to earn it.when you do get off that stuff you gotta keep at it.them pills are gonna keep calling you back saying all kinds of lies just to get back on them... pete

Yes this person does want to stop. He realizes what its doing to his life. He did try Methadone for a few days and then started withdrawing from Methadone. He goes as long as he can without taking them, but eventually gives in... its easier to give in then to deal with it I guess. I appreciate your suggestions and will look for that Doc in our area and we have looked into N/A as well. I find it amazing that this stuff is leagal and that its being perscribed to people day in and day out.
