Medications for Cauda Equina Syndrome w/ Neurogenic Bladder

Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) is a rare disorder where something compresses on the nerves at the very bottom of the spinal cord. The spinal nerves involved are called the cauda equina which is latin for horses tail because this is what they look like. CES may cause low back pain and problems with bowel and bladder function, numbness in the saddle area and weakness in one or both legs. Immediate surgery is usually required to prevent complications including paralysis or loss of bladder control.
